Men

Shorts are not acceptable in public places in Iran. There is nothing wrong with wearing a tie or bow tie. T-shirts are acceptable.

Women

Observance of Islamic laws, including hijab, is essential in Iran. However, these rules are not strictly enforced, especially for tourists and foreigners. You don’t have to worry about keeping your hijab, because if you forget it, the maximum penalty is a (usually polite) request to change it. There are minimum requirements for foreign women’s dress code in public places:

Color: The belief that you should wear dark colors in Iran is completely wrong. There are no restrictions in this field and we suggest that you definitely use bright colors in the summer.

Head: Hair must be covered. This doesn’t mean you have to wrap a tight scarf around your head. Don’t worry, it’s very common for some parts to come off the cover. It is perfectly acceptable for women to frame their bangs. The right hat can do this just as well as a scarf. A scarf is the most common head covering and it is called a scarf in Farsi.

Body: It should be covered and the arms should not be bare.

Legs and feet: Legs must be covered up to the ankles. Feet can be bare and you can wear sandals.

IRAN with 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites is one of the 10 countries with the most Cultural Heritage Sites in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list.

In addition, nearly 40,000 Cultural Heritage Sites have been registered in Iran’s National Monuments. Some of them are well known among domestic and foreign tourists.

Do you want to visit them? We can provide official tour guides with permission from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of Iran. They can better explain those sites to you with the history and civilization behind them.

You can also try a different taste of food because different ethnic groups live in Iran and everyone has their own local cuisine.

Exchanging money in Iran is very easy, you can exchange your money in cash at exchange offices or banks. But please check the exchange rate as it may differ between both. Usually the exchange rate is better in exchange offices.

If your money is on your credit cards and you are worried about using cash, don’t worry, you can keep your money in the hotel safe deposit box or you can ask your licensed tour guide to keep it for you.
